93 Main Street ~ Port Washington, NY 11050
It’s was with a heavy heart that JDRF decided to shut down our Thrift Boutique on Main Street in Port Washington, Long Island. Our final week of business was June 22, 2012. The Thrift Boutique was in business for over 28 years and survived while others around closed.
It originally started with a Judge who had a son with type 1 diabetes. He donated the space for 2 months and people mostly donated car parts and tires. Over the years the donations turned into amazing merchandise from designer clothes and collectables to fine decorative items.
JDRF would like to thank Mimi Konig and Joi Iavarone for overseeing this shop from the beginning. Under their guidance the thrift shop raised over $2 million for research. We thank all of the volunteers that put in time and effort to make this shop a success and thank you to the supporters that helped to fulfill our potential to raise a great deal of money for research that will help find a cure.
